Hmm... what are the chances that babies would eat this?

I want to make veggie nuggets... but based on past experience, the chances of them making it past Cobb's teeth hovers around 5%.

Nevertheless, I love beautiful food. I think I'll try it!

Beauty and the Beat

Ok, I hope you aren't having a rough day TODAY, but incase you have a rough day in the future...pretty sure that's like every other day for me. This is for you.
Why is it that Disney can make everything better? AND in case you haven't see it....

The Exhortation of the Dawn

My friend Milan went to a posh middle-high school in LA, and she remembers reciting the following right after the Pledge of Allegiance every day. It's from an unknown Indian poet:

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn:

Look to this Day!
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course lie all the verities
and realities of your existence:

The Glory of Action,
The Bliss of Growth,
The Splendor of Beauty.
For yesterday is but a dream,
and tomorrow is only a vision.

But today, well lived, makes
Every yesterday a dream of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this Day!
Such is the salutation to the Dawn.

I stole it from her blog, wrote it out, and taped it to my wall. But today I'm rearranging my room, and it looks very dingy, so I'm taking it down. But I needed a place to record it for posterity. Enter, our blog! Hope you enjoy it, too.

When were helping were happy

Seriously CRIED with that video of the mom dancing. I really wish I had that talent. Alas, I have been blessed with 2 left feet.
The 5K went great! I actually ran about 11minute miles, so not fast but not bad. Adam came in about 7 minutes before me, but we will atribute that to the fact that he has longer legs, and didn't have to pee the whole time. :) Yay for having babies, and then always having to pee!
Those cupcakes look devine, and had I not just had a spoonful of frosting I would go find one right now.

I have been a lot better mentally lately. I have just committed to doing things and not depended on other people as to what was going to happen. I made two new friends this week and honestly when you don't have a regular social life it's a big deal! I also talked to Abi today, and even though I still don't think we are as good of friends as we once were it was nice to know that we both still care. I am trying to learn something new every day. I think that's the reason I love the days I work is because I ALWAYS learn something new. Today I learned about living Gluten-Free from one of the new friends I met. I mean I know about it, but it's one thing to read it, it's a whole other thing to live it. I am grateful that I don't have to follow a gluten-free diet, but it did open my eyes to the options that are out there-and maybe a few gluten-free or low gluten meals would help me get more variety in our diets.

Linds, I love you. Thanks for always making me smile.

GASP!

The glitter shoes from that link you gave me! <3 <3 <3 So many good things in there. If only I were crafty... I feel like that's a hobby I just have on a shelf labelled "When I'm a mom." There a lot of things on that shelf. :)

I watched the video you sent me of Olivia laughing while you made a popping sound with your mouth. Love that baby. There is not much in life that makes you smiles as much as the sound of a baby laughing, is there?

1.5 miles!!!!! WOOOO!!! I remember reading the fb status of a friend who had had a baby a year before: "1 mile run- exhausted but happy to be back!" And I was SO proud of her, and I knew I had NO idea how hard even 1 mile would feel after raising a baby for a year. You mamas are NEAT. Good luck on your 5k. I love race days!!!

OK, so I wrote down 6 goals of things to do today, my day off. I got four done (one of the unchecked ones was, "scripture study with Preach My Gospel." FAIL.) But I did the dishes for all my roomies, so we'll round today's work up to a B+.

Actually getting stuff done today makes me feel as good as your 1 mile probably made you feel. I've been pretty lazy lately. Also, you know how every few months you get a period that just REALLY makes you sick? That's my lot this month. Like, I took an accidental 4 HOUR nap yesterday, from 4 pm to 8 pm, and then turned around at 10:30 and fell asleep til 7 am this morning without a  problem. That's how icky/feebley I feel. How did you feel after your run?

Here is another funny/cutesy thing to motivate us through our Tuesdays (She's a former Cougarette):

Honor

Today, in your honor, I went running! Yes it was a measly 1.5 miles...and I might have walked the .5, but I did it none the less. AND this weekend I signed up and will be running in a 5k. YAY! And the best part is I feel 100% better about life, even after that little run. Exercise really is one of the keys to real happiness. If only it was more explicitly outlined in the WOW.

Also, something to get us motivated to create! CLICK HERE
I really want to make the mini kitchen...And I kinda want to go back in time and be a little girl and use it myself!

And something to make you laugh:
